Watermelon is one of the main crops in Erlun Township, with a planting area of about 500 hectares, ranking first in the country and known as the "hometown of watermelons." The peak season for watermelon production is usually in April and May. Due to the unique growing environment and sandy soil in the bed of the Zhuoshui River, Erlun watermelons are known for their juicy and delicious taste, sweetness without cloying, and are highly praised by those who have tasted them. 

西瓜是二崙鄉的主要農作物之一，種植面積約有500多公頃，亦居全國首位，被譽為「西瓜的故鄉」。每年四、五月為西瓜盛產期，由於濁水溪河床獨特生長環境及沙質地，使得二崙西瓜具有汁多味美、甜而不膩等特點，吃過的人都讚不絕口。

 Every year during Mother's Day in May, the Erlun Township Office holds a grand Watermelon Festival at the Ziqiang Fruit and Vegetable Market (自強果菜市場) - one of the vital watermelon distribution centers. Through professional review, outstanding melon farmers are selected and recognized as the "Watermelon Kings." The event also showcases the results of local farmers' cultivation, honors exemplary mothers, and invites residents to enjoy free watermelon. This unique festival has become a signature event of Erlun Township, and farmers get to use this chance to sell excellent local agricultural specialties throughout the country.     

每年五月母親節時，二崙鄉公所會在重要西瓜集散地的自強果菜市場舉辦盛大的西瓜節，透過專業評審，選出「西瓜王」。表揚優秀瓜農，同時展示當地農民栽種成果、表揚模範母親、邀請鄉親免費吃西瓜等，成為二崙特有的節慶活動，並將在地優良的農特產銷售至全國。
